J. Christopher ‘Sol et Soleil’: The Essence of Oregon Chardonnay
The J.CHRISTOPHER SOL ET SOLEIL is a powerfully expressive Chardonnay, crafted to capture the ‘soil and sun’ of the northern Willamette Valley. Under the guidance of renowned winemaker Ernst Loosen, this wine delivers a Burgundian-inspired experience, showcasing the potential of Oregon’s diverse AVAs, including the Chehalem Mountains, Yamhill-Carlton, and Eola-Amity Hills.
Tasting Notes & Winemaking
- Nose: An aromatic explosion of baked pear, soft caramel, cashew, and a faint hint of pineapple, complemented by toasty oak.
- Palate: Medium-bodied and seamless, the mouthfeel is rich and balanced, with flavors of fresh croissant, light honey, and Bosc pear. A beautiful mineral-infused backbone provides lift, leading to a long, dry, and elegantly complex finish.
- Winemaking: Barrel-fermented and aged on the full lees for nearly two years in large 500-liter oak puncheons, achieving a perfect balance between richness and purity of fruit.
Pairing & Service
Serve chilled at 54-57°F (12-14°C). This is your go-to white for upscale dining. Decanting for 30 minutes is recommended to allow the full aromatic complexity to unfold.
