Château Côte de Baleau, a historic property on Bordeaux’s Right Bank, holds the prestigious rank of Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. Now under the ownership of the esteemed Cuvelier Family (owners of Clos Fourtet), the estate perfectly marries a magnificent clay-limestone terroir with world-class winemaking, guided by celebrated consultant Michel Rolland.

This wine is a superb expression of Merlot, Saint-Émilion’s dominant grape, providing a rich, velvety texture. This is beautifully balanced by the structure and freshness of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Gentle extraction and aging in French oak barrels ensure the tannins are fine and the aromatic complexity is deep and layered.

Tasting Notes

• Appearance: Deep garnet-red with purple hues.
• Nose: An intense and sophisticated bouquet of ripe black fruits (blackberry, black cherry), lifted by floral notes (violet) and savory hints of mocha, vanilla, and sweet spice from careful oak aging.
• Palate: The attack is full and silky, building to a structure defined by remarkably fine, integrated tannins. It offers impeccable balance, culminating in a long, persistent finish that promises excellent age-worthiness.

Pairing & Serving

Decant for one hour to allow the wine to fully express its aromas. Serve at 61°F-64°F (16°C-18°C). This Grand Cru Classé is ready to enjoy now but will reward cellaring for 10-15+ years.
