Château Fonréaud, a distinguished Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, translates literally to ‘Royal Fountain,’ a nod to its historic terroir. Situated on the highest point of the Médoc, the estate benefits from exceptional Pyrenean gravel soils, which impart a powerful structure and remarkable elegance to its red wines. Operated by the Chanfreau Family since 1962, this wine is a classic, meticulously crafted expression of the Listrac-Médoc appellation.

• Color: A deep, brilliant ruby that hints at its concentration and excellent aging potential.
• Nose: An elegant and complex bouquet of intense ripe black and red fruits (cassis, black cherry), interwoven with subtle notes of vanilla, sweet spice, and a hint of toasty undergrowth from expert oak aging.
• Palate: The attack is direct and full, leading to a round, well-structured (‘racé’) mouthfeel. The frame is supported by velvety, perfectly integrated tannins, culminating in a persistent, long finish that highlights fruit and spice.

This majestic wine is best served with equally robust and refined dishes. Decanting for 1 to 2 hours at 61-64°F (16-18°C) is highly recommended for younger vintages to allow the full aromatic complexity to unfold.
